Hi there,I'll show you guys how i made my Avatar.

1.Open Photoshop ( i use Photoshop CS5.5 extended edition ) and open the image.
2.Then double click on "Background" and then click "OK"
3.Then take the "Rectangular Marquee Tool (M)" and select the text "2013" then right click on it and select "Fill" then click "OK".
The text should disappear.
Some traces will remain but it's not a problem becoz you will add some text over it and mask it.
4.Then take the "Type tool (T)" and write something,i wrote my name "Yuri"
The font used by me is called "Narnia BLL" just google it and you'll find it.
5.Optional,if you want it to look GREAT right click on Text Layer ( Yuri in my case) and go to "Blending options" and play with those options untill u get somth. that u like ^_^
6.Save the file,simple! File->Save As->Format JPG->SAVE
And your done!
